5K In the East Bay will be hosting a 5K (3mile) FUN RUN at Lake Merritt to raise money for LLS (Leukemia and Lymphoma Society). Please bring your family and friends to support this cause. We encourage people to dress up in fun, colorful, playful (but safe) attire, and have FUN WHILE YOU RUN! If running is not your thing, we do understand, but encourage you to still come out. Come take a stroll with us around the lake, make some new friends, and support a good cause. We will also have a gift for each adult registrant. *Dress up not required to participate
There will be a Kids Lolly Pop Dash before the 5K begins! Kids will receive a playful prize at the end of their race for their participation. Also, Fairyland is located not far from our starting point! These tickets are sold in donation format. Give as little or as much as you like. Please do register your children or email us to let us know if they are going to participate so that we have an idea of a head count.
Pre race we will be providing Peet's coffee. Post race, we will be providing refreshments for all participants, as well as conducting a raffle. The first 20 people to register will receive one entry into our Raffle!
Time Line:
Registration at the Pavilion (On Lakeshore and El Embarcadero): 8:30am-10:00am, please bring your tickets and a photo ID for registration
Lolly Pop Dash: Begins at 9:30am
5K: Begins at 10:30am
PLEASE REMEMBER TO LEAVE TIME TO FIND PARKING. There is parking along the streets there, but Lake Merritt is a popular place, so it can become difficult to locate a spot.
*We will be able to take caredit card payments for registration at the event
*REMEMBER: This is a charity event, so your tickets are TAX DEDUCTIBLE! We will provide all participants that purchase over $100 worth of tickets with a receipt with the LLS tax ID number during registration. The IRS does not require this information for donations under $100, but if you would like one anyway, please let us know and we will have it for you on race day.
